Alright I needed a little fun this week… so bare with me as I bring back some old classics. Or maybe not so classic more just fun!

With an injury to my knee, and a bruised quad I haven’t been running. I will start the process again most likely Monday and see how it goes from there. I plan to buy a brace on Saturday to see if that helps. I’ve been doing Tae Kwon Do for this week with a wrap… Which was effective but very hmm sloppy and I don’t know if it would hold up with running.

What happened, you might ask or might not… either way I’m going to tell you!

Last Saturday I tested for my blue belt w/white stripe… of course I passed. But during the testing we had 3 rounds of sparring and got a slight injury. Well okay I got kicked in the jimmy, the knee, and to top it all off I got kicked three times in the thigh…

So I’ve been wearing a wrap the past few days to practice for the knee. But it’s amazing that the thigh “quadriceps“, hurt more. I went home and iced it but its still hurting 4 days later. Anyway

I guess I’d like to speak to anyone willing to listen and say that when you are sparring remember this is Tae Kwon Do… A strategic game of hmm tag. It’s about agility, speed, and control… Not a free for all.

So I’m getting to the point in the story I think I might just start giving excerpts and not full chapters. So this is one from the next chapter.

So at this point I feel like an absentee blogger… I can’t promise to pick it up any, but I will try my best… I just have a lot of things going on and my mind is distracted by the beauty of the world.

So I’ve started running during lunch… about 10 to 15 minutes, over a mile … on a normal day. Then I go to Tae Kwon Do at night Which has become almost a nightly event as I am testing for my Blue Belt White Stripe. On Saturday.

Also I am writing more of the story… that process has slow but I’m still writing.

My music and belly button gremlin are fun and I will be posting more of those. I hope that everyone at least enjoys them as much as I do.

Prose and Poetry, I need a little inspiration. I want a camera I can take pictures with, but is light and faster then my phone. But that’s another story for another time.

I need new running shoes as the ones I have are breaking down slowly but surely. I entered a contest to get free entery into a 5k…

Oh and speaking of competitions I have a TKD competition in May (I believe… lol) which I still don’t know if I’m competiting or might just volunteer at. hmm anyway I would really love to do the Sparring bit but don’t know with everything else… meh we’ll see how it goes.

I did start running during lunch… a quick 10 to 15 minute run… and today I hit a new milestone running a mile in 8.28 minutes…

Tae Kwon Do is going great, I’m with the increase in stamina from running I’m able to rebound faster and I can tell that my kicks are getting off the ground faster.

Oh anyone use Runkeeper?

I like it’s detail… I have heard good things about strava? As well but at the moment I’m using runkeeper…

Work has me taking on new tasks, it’s been a bit of a time consumption to say the least. But it’s alright it’s coming along as I learn. As per the usual I pick things up quickly… now just need to make it my own and get faster. As the commercial says faster is better… well at most things… sometimes slow is good too!!!

Other news, allergies plague me as the weather is deciding what it wants to do… rain, sun, cold, warm… blah Benadryl is my friend but it is just staving off the major attacks… the battle seem to be breathing, which is difficult anyway with a deviated septum. but meh who’s perfect? Yes me!!! well

The perfect ME… anyway maybe I’ll go run in the rain tonight… after tkd.

I’ve been on pintrest lately, looking for some motivational quotes and such… oh and at tattoo’d naked women. (homer simpson noise) oh sorry back to the program…

Oh I’ve been eating Nature Valley’s Granola Bars… the Oat and Honey ones… they are good, I like the fact that they grumble apart… but this has me really wanting to make my own granola bar… I might try that this weekend or next…

Speaking of TKD – my daughter is graduating this saturday from midget class to the normal kids class. Woohoo!! Think we might throw her a party.

What else is going on inside my head? I’d tell ya but well I don’t want to scare you off… 🙂

Seen any good porn? oh I mean movies lately? I watched Skyfall, loved the background story for the James Bond character, and the fact that it went away from the gadgets and more towards the Character development. Also and I know I’ll get yelled at for this but the move to M to the male actor was I believe a good thing. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that Moneypenny was in the field… from what I remember and maybe I’m wrong but she’s always been just a receptionist and never a field agent. But meh I’ll get over it, bring on the next Bond movie.

So last night was, let me think of a good adjective, offensive to REM state. It turned very cold over night at least it felt like it to me.  I woke up, or was awoken, not sure which happened first at around 3:20 in the morning I turned and my leg instantly started tensing up as it tightened and resulted in a cramp that restricted the lower half of my calf and foot.  Luckily it wasn’t as harsh as they have been in the past… a mild restriction, more of an irritation. 

I am not sure how it came on either, I had plenty of fluids.  I drank a cup of tea in the morning, 48 oz of water through the day, and then I had a protein smoothie with banana’s and oranges after Tae Kwon Do… not to mention more water.  Anyway blah blah

I have been doing a little research and wanted to know what some of the experts might think, (if there are some reading this) about the cold weather causing the muscle spasm.  It turned very cold over night here in the Puget Sound at least it felt like it to me.  I woke up, or was awoken, not sure which happened first at around 3:20 in the morning I turned and my leg instantly started tensing up.   

I wouldn’t say lack of stretching, as I had Tae Kwon Do for the 3rd night in a row…  Maybe it was over use?  Heck I even took a hot shower…

What are muscle cramps?

A muscle cramp is a strong, painful contraction or tightening of a muscle that comes on suddenly and lasts from a few seconds to several minutes. It often occurs in the legs. A muscle cramp is also called a charley horse.

Nighttime leg cramps are usually sudden spasms, or tightening, of muscles in the calf. The muscle cramps can sometimes happen in the thigh or the foot. They often occur just as you are falling asleep or waking up.

I will be running tonight as it’s been about 7 days since my last real one… I did go to the gym but that was mostly to do a workout using their machines.  I ran for a 10 minute interval 1:1 with the speed at 4 up to 6.5 with an added incline of 3. I am worried that the left leg will bug me during the run… I will just stretch before and after, and drink lots of fluid. I know the drill… lol

I would talk about the Sounders but well they are kind of playing like my high school team who didn’t win one game.  Not that I don’t support them… Sounders till I DIE… but they need to get on the ball!

Let’s see what else is happening. Oh TKD I’m learning Pal Gae Sam Jang (my blue belt form). It’s unique but I am learning it quickly. Beyond that I have 3 new punching, 3 new kicking, and 3 new hand grabs. Which are fun… but testing my patience… as I want to know them now and not have to think about them… but it’ll get better. 

Well anyway, I am sure I can go on… but oh one more thing… check out a new comic, the first issue #0 is free on comixology called FROST. It sounds like it’s going to be a kick ass action comic… which I will enjoy. I believe the rest of the issues will be released as .99 cents. The writers (Brandon Jerwa and Eric Trautmann) are good and the graphics have a good edge to them that I enjoy.

Alright on that geek moment I’ll let you all go… be good and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do (yes this I know leaves your chooses wide open)

Please enjoy the next chapter of my story, this is a rough draft.   I’m sorry I missed Wednesday, it was a rough patch and I needed a small break.  I hope you all can understand.

Oh what a morning, I always wake up before my alarm goes off… And I set myself to alarms as snooze buttons.

This morning was normal, I woke up about 5:30, but I could tell I was still tired, not sleepy just tired.  My alarm goes off at 5:45, I turn it off and just lay my head down, must have passed out for next thing I know my second alarm is going off… Its 10 minutes later and I’m groggy as a college chick that just got something special in her drink. 

In my half stupor I get ready, hope I didn’t forget something and walk to the bus … It’s now 6:20 and I am attempting not to say fuck it to the day.  Because all I really want to do is go back to sleep… But I’m sure some barney would have half a coronary if I called in.

To top it all off my now I’m freaking hungry and all I want is an unhealthy breakfast of steak and eggs… With a side of toast and we cannot forget about the bacon, Fuck yea.  What will I have for breakfast?  Nothing so exciting or unhealthy I’m afraid; yogurt, granola, dried cranberries and some nuts.

Sorry seems I’m rambling on about jack dick all

You’re lucky you should hear my non-filtered thoughts today.  Murder, mayhem, sex, drugs, and more sex, woohoo… Johnny’s on a fuck it bender.

So what am I working on?

Running goal:    3 miles in less than 30 minutes
Tae Kwon Do:     Flexibility and stability
Blog:     Two things I would really like to get off the ground are product reviews and interviews.

Story?  Yeah I’m working on that too… it’s just well its difficult at the moment, I know it’s getting good, and the action is picking up… but the shiny object is ruining my concentration.

In product reviews I’m working on running apps for my android. 
In interviews I’d really love a few different people but I need to work on question…

Ugh how do I do it?  Maybe that’s a question I should ask, “How do you concentrate on finishing a story?” All I want to do at times is look at the bright shiny objects, I don’t want to leave people in the learch waiting for a story.  That’s why I have the deadline… but I also don’t want to give everyone just a bunch of crap that a two year old could come up with.

Last night I was spent… Tae Kwon Do really kicked my butt… After concentrating for the past few weeks on my Poomses and such to get back to sparring class was a relief but also a real grind-house.  I was definitely dripping like… well I’ll leave that one to your imagination.
